  • 1. What is nanotechnology?
1 nanometer is 1 billionth of a meter, or about 1/100,000th the thickness of a human hair. Nanotechnology refers to science and technology that creates materials, devices, or systems that exhibit new or improved physical, chemical, or biological properties by manipulating, analyzing, and controlling materials in the nanometer-sized range. Controlling the arrangement of atoms and molecules in the 1 to 100 nm range has a significant impact on the properties of materials, devices, and systems, and enables the production of new materials and advanced products with special functions using nanotechnology.
  • 2. What is a nanobiosensor?
The nanobiosensor detects substances at the molecular level using various types of biomolecules (Bio Receptor) such as enzymes, antibodies, antigens, DNA, etc., to detect specific molecules (Analyte), and recognizes interactions through a physicochemical Signal Transducer. The nanobiosensor used in the STEM education kit is an electrochemical-based biosensor that operates through oxidation/reduction reactions.
  • 3. What is STEM?
STEM refers to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. STEM education, which leads the 4th Industrial Revolution, plays an important role in opening an era of borderless technological revolution and strengthening convergent thinking and problem-solving skills. STEM education plays a key role in breaking away from uniform thinking, improving creativity and learning effectiveness, and creating added value through the convergence of digital, bio, semiconductor, nano, and online technologies.
  • 4. What is your vision for STEM education?
① INNOVATIVE RESEARCH AND APPLICATION As a leader in the STEM field, we focus on empowering our students to develop and apply innovative solutions to real-world problems. ② EFFECTIVE COOPERATION WITH CONVERGENCE SCIENCE We support students to collaborate and think convergently in various fields such as chemistry, biology, semiconductor engineering, and biotechnology. ③ APPLICATION TO THE BIOHEALTH FIELD Students develop the ability to make innovative contributions to medicine, life science research, and the biohealth industry by combining life sciences, engineering, and information technology.
  • 5. What is the value of STEM education?
① EXCELLENT EDUCATION QUALITY World-renowned teachers and researchers teach students and provide realistic experiences using the latest technology and equipment. ② ETHICS AND RESPONSIBILITY We teach students how to act fairly and ethically, and educate them to adhere to ethical principles in research and application in the biohealth field. ③ SUSTAINABILITY AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY We teach students sustainability and social responsibility, and encourage them to have a positive impact on the global environment and society through STEM technology and research.
  • 6. Why did you develop a STEM program?
We leveraged our years of experience in academia to develop a STEM education kit for high school students. Nanobioscience is widely known, but because the development process takes so much time and money, there is not much data available for direct experimentation. Given this, we believe that our nanobiosensor STEM kit will be very beneficial to students.
  • 7. Do you provide additional learning materials?
① RECOMMENDED BOOK LIST Provides a list of books and review literature from which you can gain additional knowledge related to nanotechnology, biosensing, and STEM. ② ONLINE COURSE LINK Provides information and links to free online courses or workshops related to nanotechnology and biotechnology, allowing students to learn more in-depth. ③ IN-DEPTH VIDEO MATERIALS Provides a list of high-quality video materials such as TED lectures, YouTube education channels, and scientific experiment demonstrations that help you understand the topic in-depth. Using materials like these can help you expand your knowledge about STEM distribution and help you manage your learning process on your own.
  • 8. What are the strengths of the STEM KIT program?
① PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE IN ADVANCED TECHNOLOGIES Through the STEM KIT, students can gain hands-on experience in nanobiosensors, which are at the forefront of modern scientific research and applications. ② INTERDISCIPLINARY LEARNING Provides a comprehensive educational experience by combining various STEM disciplines such as biology, chemistry, physics, and engineering. ③ CURRICULUM ALIGNMENT Designed to meet educational standards, it can complement or enhance the existing curriculum followed by homeschooling parents.
  • 9. What are the benefits provided to students who use the STEM KIT program?
① PRACTICAL APPLICATION By using the kit, students can see the practical impact of what they are learning, making education more relevant and engaging. ② PREPARATION FOR FUTURE RESEARCH The knowledge gained using the kit can become the basis for future research in all STEM fields, especially where advanced convergence science is increasingly important. ③ CULTIVATING SCIENTIFIC CURIOSITY Utilizing cutting-edge technologies can foster a lifelong interest in science and technology and encourage students to pursue careers in these fields.
